The Cloud Has Landed

This afternoon I trekked up to the castle in Baden to test out a new lens and take a couple of panoramic photographs of Baden.
Above was the final shot from the day. The most noticeable element of the photograph is what I affectionately call the cloud. The gray mass of cloud that arrives around this time of year and won't leave until March or April.
One of the reasons for my trek up to the castle today was to practice the shot so if and when the clouds to lift this winter I'll be ready to get a good picture.

Hi! I just moved to CH a couple weeks ago, and was really, really impressed by the view of the Alps from my window...but the cloud has descended here in Bern too...I haven't seen the Alps in a week...

E- Welcome to CH. I'm sure you will enjoy your visit. I think the best way to see the Alps this time a year from Bern is going to be to get on a train and take a lift to the top. It is a common practice when you the Swiss get a case of the winter blues.
The ski lifts go above the clouds and a couple of hours of sun will do you good.
